Hello Sports Fans,

Today is the beginning of something that has been a long time coming. Now is a great time for a sports talk blog. There are so many things happening now in the sports world and specifically in the Southeast and more importantly in South Carolina. Just last night South Carolina and Clemson concluded their baseball regular season rivalry for 2011 with the Gamecocks winning the season series 2 to 1. Of course if you are a South Carolina or Clemson fan you are aware of the heated bat issue or non-issue actually. By the way in case you are not aware there is no rule that says you can’t heat bats. We can only hope the 2 teams meet again in the World Series this summer. I was there last year and it was magical.

What will this sports blog be about? The website name pretty much tells it all but we will concentrate on the University of South Carolina sports,  the Atlanta Braves and of course the SEC and the Gamecocks rival Clemson. I am a Carolina man and that’s what I know the most about and where my interests are. But you can’t talk about USC without Clemson and the SEC coming up.

I hope that we can get a lot of participation from everyone. That will make this a success and a lot of fun for all of us.

What do you have to look forward to in the next few months?

I will be in Florida for Baseball Spring Training March 19-26. There will be articles everyday about the games I attend each day. My first stop is a Braves game in Orlando with Houston. I am really looking forward to taking in Boston against Philadelphia. We will take in 6 or 7 games during the week. So if you are a baseball fan I will deliver plenty of first hand spring training reports.

USC also starts spring football practice next week. Plenty of sports talk about the happenings there . I will also have my take on the 2010 season in the next day or so. You can never talk enough college football in the southeast.

And of course USC plays Thursday in the SEC Tournament. I hope they can pull off an upset or two but this team has some problems. Plenty of discussion down the road on that.

So get involved and leave comments. I am really looking forward to this.

Mike
