Spring Training In Florida Is My Ideal Vacation

Heading down to spring training in Florida on Saturday. Ready to watch some spring training games and see who is looking good for the upcoming season. First stop will be to watch the Atlanta Braves in Orlando. Really want to take a look at some of the rookies trying to make the roster. Spring training in Florida for me is like a little time in heaven. The Tampa Bay area has several major league clubs that have their spring training sites close.

We usually stay in in the Tampa area and just venture out from there to different games each day. It’s amazing the number of fans you meet that come down from up north to follow their teams during spring training. You gain some insight from some of the fans as they talk about their teams. You have to decide what’s true and what’s bull but there are still a lot of good stories. I will be reporting daily, some times several times a day with many pictures at the different spring training locations.

This year I am looking forward to going to the Phillies practice facility in St. Petersburg. We hope to watch the Phillies and Boston play each other. That may be a hard ticket to get but if you get out to the stadium early enough you can usually find tickets at a reasonable price.

Chipper Jones has been hitting pretty good from what I have been reading so I hope to catch him in action and see how his rehab is going. The only bad thing about spring training games is you never know who will be held out of the lineup on a particular day. But you do get to watch a lot of the young new talent so it all evens out.

Be sure to catch my daily stories and pictures from spring training in Florida.
