Week 7  SEC Football Preview

Arkansas and Kentucky have the week off. The big game this week for me is the Florida at Auburn match-up. This is my upset of the week in the SEC although it’s not that big of an upset. Florida is currently favored by about 2 points. All the other favorites should win this week. I said should.

Auburn 27- Florida 24 Auburn is home this week against a Florida team without their starting QB. The Auburn defense has been playing better the last few weeks and I think they will get a win in front of the home crowd. The Auburn QB play has not been that great so far but if they can just get the ball in Michael Dyers hands this week I think that will be enough to get the job done.

Georgia 21- Vanderbilt 17 If the Vanderbilt offense could get a few points this could be a big year for Vanderbilt. The defense plays tough but they have to stay on the field for so long they just get tired. Georgia may be the hottest team in the east and should be able to get a victory in Nashville. Although this will be a tougher game for Georgia than people think.

Alabama 41- Mississippi 14 This has been a terrible year for the Ole Miss Rebels and it will only get worse this weekend against the Crimson Tide. Alabama just has to many weapons for Mississippi to keep it close. I really like Houston Nutt but this could put the nail in the coffin and end his coaching days at Ole Miss. It will take a monster effort just to keep it close.

LSU 31- Tennessee 13 The LSU defense has been awesome against the run this year. The Volunteer running attack has been terrible the last few weeks. To make matters worse QB Tyler Bray is out for a month with a broken hand. This could get ugly but the Tennessee home crowd should help the Vols stay close for about a half. After that all bets are off.

South Carolina 24- Mississippi State 14 The Bulldog offense has been lackluster this year and the defense is not as tough as we are normally used to. The South Carolina offense looked much better last week but that was against one of the worst defenses in the nation. The Gamecock defense has been tough and appears to be getting tougher each week. They can win this game if the offense sputters for the Gamecocks. But if the OL blocks like they did against Vandy and Auburn we may have a 0-0 tie.
