SEC baseball teams kick off regional play today as they try to win their 3rd straight College World Series. Defending champ University of South Carolina plays tonight at 7 against Georgia Southern. If you go just by RPI ratings the toughest regional would be in Columbia with the Gamecocks hosting a very tough Stetson team, a hot N.C. State team and a team in Georgia Southern that scares coach Ray Tanner.

Florida comes into their regional as one of the hottest teams in America after winning the SEC Tournament. Their regional should come down to them and their old rival Miami. Manhattan and Jacksonville round out the field.

Vanderbilt plays Belmont tonight which should be an easy victory for them. A team to watch in their regional may be Troy with 42 wins. Their pitching has let them down a little bit at the end of the season but they have good power and if their pitching can get back on track they could give some teams a run for their money. Oklahoma State is always and tough.

These should be the teams to most likely to advance to a super regional from out of the SEC. But don’t count out Miss.State, Georgia, Alabama or Arkansas.
