Atlanta Braves Have To Right The Ship Now

One month ago the Braves were sitting good as a wild card team but lately the wheels have fallen off. Last night they lost in the 9th inning with a walk off home run against Craig Kimbrel who has been lights out most of the season.

Chipper Jones lost a ground ball in the lights before the home run by Omar Infante. The Braves lead dropped from 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 with 8 games remaining. The Cardinals are hot on the tail of Atlanta.

The Braves pitching has been outstanding but the hitting has let them down the last month. “Anytime you don’t get your job done, of course you’re frustrated,” Kimbrel said. St. Louis took 3 out of 4 from Philadelphia so the Braves got no help from the Phillies.

The Cardinals play the Mets at home Tuesday and Wednesday. Some help from New York would be nice. More importantly Atlanta needs to take care of business with 8 games remaining on their schedule.
